More Info

The Tib Machine is the most compact & affordable Tibia Dorsi Machine on the market designed to unilaterally isolate the Tibialis Anterior muscle and provide a measurable way to load the tib raise exercise.

The Tibialis Anterior is the muscle that runs next to the shin bone, down the front of the leg from the knee to the ankle. When the Tibialis Anterior muscle is weak, the undue force generated through walking, running, or jumping makes its way to the knee, causing knee pain and shin splints.

Performing Tib Raises will help develop a strong Tibialis Anterior muscle, which is the first line of defense against knee injuries & has been linked to decreased shin splints and knee pain.

Using The Tib Machine also helps to strengthen the muscles, tendons, and ligaments surrounding the ankle while simultaneously stretching and increasing the ankle's range of motion.

Perfect for Knees Over Toes Training, home & commercial gyms, sports teams, CrossFit, group training, athletes, physical therapists & more!

FREQUENTLY ASKED,

ALL ANSWERED.

What is The Tib Machine?

The Tib Machine is a compact and affordable training device specifically designed to isolate and strengthen the tibialis anterior muscle, located at the front of the lower leg. It allows you to perform tib raises in a stable, controlled environment, providing measurable and progressive loading for this essential exercise.

What muscles does The Tib Machine target?

The primary focus is the tibialis anterior, the muscle responsible for dorsiflexion (pulling the foot upward). Training this muscle enhances lower leg strength and helps prevent shin splints and knee pain.

How does The Tib Machine compare to the Tib Bar Pro?

Both tools are excellent for tibialis raises, but The Tib Machine offers more stability by securing your foot into a fixed platform. This allows for maximum force production and muscle fatigue. The Tib Bar Pro, while effective, requires more balance and coordination, making it slightly less stable but great for engaging supporting muscles.

Does The Tib Machine come with weight plates?

No, weight plates are not included. However, we offer a high-quality bundle of cast iron weight plates that pair perfectly with The Tib Machine. You can check them out HERE.

What size weight plates does The Tib Machine accept?

The Tib Machine is designed for Olympic/Competition plates with a 2” center hole. It is not compatible with 1” standard plates. If you have any questions about plate compatibility, contact us before purchasing.

GETTING STARTED

The Tib Machine comes mostly assembled with exception of the loading bar. Simply screw onto the base of the machine and start training. Check out our Getting Started Guide HERE for a complete step-by-step setup.

How to use The Tib Machine?

The Tib Machine can be used in two different ways — sitting or standing — allowing you to customize your training based on your goals, equipment setup, and comfort level.

Option 1 - Seated Tib Raises

Sit on a bench or chair with your foot securely placed in The Tib Machine. With your heel anchored and the padded bar resting comfortably across the top of your foot, drive your foot upward to perform a tibialis raise. Focus on squeezing the tibialis anterior at the top, then lower with control.

Option 2 - Standing Tib Raises

You can also use The Tib Machine in a standing position. Simply stand upright with your foot secured in the machine, and lift your toes toward your shin. This position can offer a slightly different training stimulus by engaging additional stabilizers in the foot and ankle.

Both methods are effective, and you can alternate between seated and standing to vary your training and target the muscle from different angles. For video demonstrations and detailed training tips, check out our Training Collective.

Where can I find more information about The Tib Machine?

Check out our articles where we cover all things products, training, education, and more!

Who should use The Tib Machine?

Anyone looking to improve lower leg strength, from athletes and fitness enthusiasts to runners, jumpers, and those recovering from lower leg or knee injuries. It’s particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with shin splints, knee pain, or limited ankle stability.

How much weight should I start with?

Beginners should start with 5-10 lbs to focus on proper technique and gradually build strength. More advanced users can progressively load up to heavier weights as their tibialis strength improves.

How does training the tibialis anterior help prevent injuries?

A strong tibialis anterior helps absorb impact forces during walking, running, and jumping. This reduces excessive stress on the knees, ankles, and shins — helping to prevent shin splints, knee pain, and ankle instability.

Can training with The Tib Machine improve ankle mobility?

Yes! The tibialis raise not only strengthens the muscle but also improves ankle dorsiflexion, which is essential for proper squatting mechanics, sprinting, and jumping performance.

Where can I find more training information?
